A Four-Port CSRR-Loaded Dual-Band MIMO Antenna With Suppressed Higher Order Modes

In this paper, we propose a compact four-port dual-band MIMO antenna with suppressed higher order modes (HOMs). First, complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) loading is used on square microstrip to achieve simultaneous miniaturization and response. Next, the HOMs in proposed CSRR loaded configuration are analysed using equivalent circuit model as well surface current distribution plots. By placing single shorting post close center line, these of then suppressed, while maintaining satisfactory mutual coupling (<−11 dB) impedance matching (<−15 performance operating band. Furthermore, simulated measured values total active reflection coefficient ( TARC ), envelop correlation xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">ECC ) channel capacity loss xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">CCL within desired levels −10 dB, 0.5 bits/s/Hz respectively, signifying good diversity antenna.
